Overview of the Exhibit: Our season continues with an exhibit featuring pastel and watercolor works by Marianna Hamilton Ross; former Art Professor and Gallery Curator at Seminole State College of Florida. After retiring, Mrs. Hamilton Ross has been actively producing and exhibiting her paintings and drawings, and teaching workshops both in Florida and in northeast Pennsylvania. Her work has been included in exhibitions at the Artists for Art (AFA) Gallery, Scranton, PA; Willow River Gallery, Honesdale, PA; Cooperstown Art Association, NY, and Gallery at Avalon Island, Orlando, plus a Solo show at the University Club in Winter Park.

The Sights of this Exhibit: When you walk into the SSC Fine Arts Gallery, you will notice the lights are dimmed and the colors of the artwork will pop out. There is a total of twenty-four works of art hanging on the walls in the gallery. There are a variety of works from abstract figure forms to abstract botanicals created in watercolor and pastels.

Many viewers have asked where are her famous silk paintings. There are no available silk paintings on the wall at this exhibit. This exhibit has only 2-D works of art. One will notice that she layers some of her artwork with paper stacked on paper. Her color palette uses a variety of color gradients. She uses a cool color scheme throughout most of her artwork. Hamilton Ross finished all of her works of art with a light wooden trim frame.
