A review at the 2016 Central Florida Fall Coin Show – Orlando

Review written by Nathan Wertheimer

Orlando, FL — I had a chance to visit the Central Florida Coin Show on the opening day at the Central Florida Fairgrounds & Exposition Park on Thursday afternoon. This show runs from September 15-17, 2016, hours are 9am – 5pm. It is worth the drive to visit this event. Don’t forget to bring your coins. You’ll be able to buy, sell, and or trade your coins. It’s free admission into this show plus you’ll receive a free coin gift when you walk through the doors.

There are one hundred booths to browse through under one roof. If you’re looking to start a coin and currency collection than this is the place to be. You will have a chance to ask questions to the friendly coin vendors and collectors. Prices on the coins range to fit every budget. I even found some coins going for as little as $1.50 all the way up to hundreds of dollars.

If you’re thinking of bring your coins to this show. Please remember not to clean your coins with anything other than approved coin cleaning chemicals. If you clean your coins on your own you might be devaluing your coins, which will be worth a whole lot less than if, they were dirty. There are some coin appraisers at this show to look over your collection of coins and value them accordingly.

Over all, it might take you two to four hours to view each coin booth at his show. While looking at many of the coin booths, you will find a variety of coins ranging from foreign, American, specialty coins, and much more. There are also coin supply booth to keep your coin mint. It is recommended to put single coin holders to keep from damage, scratches, dents, and much more.

If you’re thinking about becoming a serious coin collector, than check out the Central Florida Coin Club with meetings and other activities. The Central Florida Coin Club was formed in 1955 as a not-for-profit organization, operating for educational purposes. CFCC stimulates knowledge and interest in numismatics and associated hobbies. The CFCC is one of the most active coin clubs in America. They have approximately 175 members, with 50 to 75 attending every meeting.
