Apopka, FL – For the past 6th years this has been an annual event to raise money for the Florida Special Olympics and Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, which is hosted by Central Florida Stanley Steemer and WFTV 9 Family Connection. Plus, many more sponsors will be participating too. This event is taking place on Sunday, August 13, 2017, from 11am – 2pm, at Brunswick Wekiva Lane in Apopka.
At this time, there are no more available bowling lanes to register your team for this year’s event. However, there are other events taking place too . Next year it is recommended to sign-up in the late spring to register your team to bowl in this fundraiser. This is a fun popular community fundraising event.
Come cheer on the Special Olympics champion bowlers from Central Florida. These bowlers are practicing to make it to the State of Florida Special Olympics games. Also, come see WFTV on air personalities Chief Meteorologist Tom Terry verse Anchor Greg Warmoth battle it out on the bowling lanes. Who is going to take the trophy in this year’s bowling match? You’ll have to wait to find out. So come cheer them on.
Attendees can still participate without bowling in this fundraiser too. There is a silent auction on gift baskets filled with many goodies and services from a variety of area local businesses. Winners of the gift baskets will be announced at the end of the bowling awards. All winners must be present to accept their silent auction gift basket(s).
This is a pet friendly event. Attendees are welcome to bring their well-behaved dog into this bowling center. Please be aware that your dog must be friendly around other people and other pets too. Because of the loud noise from the bowling pins crashing, some pets don’t do well in this environment. Service dogs are always welcome to attend. Plus, there will also be a few dogs up for adoption at this event.
After all teams have completed there bowling games, awards are given out to the best bowlers. One must be present to receive their award and have your photo taken. The final amount of this fundraiser will be announced and money will be split evenly between Florida Special Olympics and Pet Alliance of Great Orlando. Last year this event raised $21,000 total. The event promoters plan to raise even more this year.
So come on down to this year’s event and have a great time. If you’re unable to make on this day, please make a donation today. They really could use your help.
