Check out the Run Nona 5k race on Saturday, September 30, 2017, with this event starting at 4:30pm. The start of the 5k race is at 6:45pm. This race is open to beginners and seasoned runners and along with power walkers too. Register online for you’re to reserve you spot for this race. Reserve your place now before they’re all gone. Cost of the 5K for Adult is $38 per person and Nemours Kids’ Run is $8. This 5k race is produced by Track Shack Events.
Traveling to this event is just a short drive from Downtown Orlando to Lake Nona, which is near the Orlando International Airport (MCO). Check your GPS for the best route to this event. There parking at Lake Nona Town Center and is located Tavistock Lakes Blvd. & Lake Nona Blvd. Intersection. The address is 6941 Lake Nona Blvd, Orlando, Florida.
The beneficiary of this event along with proceeds from the race will benefit the Tavistock Foundation. The Tavistock Foundation serves programs and organizations in the communities where it has significant business interests. The Foundation has been instrumental in the development of Lake Nona’s emerging Medical City, with millions of dollars donated to creating this biomedical research and educational hub in Central Florida.
If you aren’t running this year, but want to cheer on a loved one, we welcome you to join in the fun! The Nemours Kids’ Run and Zone will occupy your littlest runners with activities geared specifically to engage them in a night of activity. The event highlights are tech shirt, Nemours Kid’s Run, Block Party with Sam Adams Beer, and chip timed race.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in this fun type of 5k race. This 5k race takes runners through the Orlando Medical City and into the residential community with views of picturesque lake along with mature trees that line this racecourse. The average running time for this race is 10-13 per mile. All runners and walkers must be within the 15 minutes per mile. This is race is considered a walker friendly event too.
If you have never participated in a 5k race before it is recommended to check with your doctor to see if you’re in good health to participate in a 5k race. Then got out and buy some new running shoes and start training a few weeks in advance of a race. It is worth the challenge of making through a race to say that one has accomplished it. Once you get hooked, you will want to participate in more 5k races. Most new race participants do a combination of running and walking to make it through a race with an average time of 40-50 minutes to complete a 5k race. Before a runner hit’s the finish line, you’ll see spectators cheering you on. Plus, runners will notice professional photographers at the finish line to taking your photo while one crosses the line. Don’t forget to get your finisher’s metal once you cross the line. It is a great souvenir to remember this race. Plus, race participants will be notified by email when photos are ready for viewing! The party starts right after this race. Celebrate at the post-race party with trendy food trucks and fabulous music. Run Nona is celebrating 10 years. This is such an accomplishment for those who participated in a 5k race. Right after this 5k race, stick around for the awards and relax a have a cup of beer with a free coupon.
