Casselberry, FL (October 18, 2017) — The City of Casselberry is hosting the ILLuminART – Spotlight on Sculpture & Sculpture Walk, October 21, 2017 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., featuring artists who work with and create sculptures in a garden environment using sustainable LED lighting, digital projections, and other light installation and sculptures. These striking works combine light and form and initiates an artistic dialogue that interacts with the public. The vision is to form creative lighting for sculptures in the Lake Concord Sculpture Garden, as well as to feature illuminated temporary installations, creating an exciting experience pleasing to the eye, heart, and soul!
Spotlight on Sculpture will feature temporary installations by Arlene Friberg-Vivaldi, Marla E, Stefanie Hayes, Suzanne Oberholtzer, Jene Omens, Susan Sturm-Menand, and Amy Wieck, as well as permanent sculptures by Keith Carroll, Mindy Colton, Johann Eyefells, Arlene Friberg-Vivaldi, Noelio Gonzalez, Jacob Harmeling, Steve Pi, Bill Platt, Aurora Rincon, Milos Saric. The City will also unveil its new sculptures selected from 2017 Lake Concord Sculpture Competition.
In the past, light was used to enhance traditional art forms like architecture or stained glass. More recently, light has been incorporated in more uniquely artistic expressions that include light sculptures, art- installations, multimedia projections as well as many other works. From large-scale sculpture to dazzling temporary light installations, there will be something for everyone, young and old! Don’t forget to stop by the Casselberry Art House to visit The Best of Florida Sculptors Guild exhibit for more amazing sculpture!
It is a quick drive from Downtown Orlando to Lake Concord Park in Casselberry. Check your GPS for the best route. There will be plenty of free parking around Casselberry City Hall and at Lake Concord Park.
