If you enjoy football than you might be excited for some professional spring football from the XFL. The time is now from the Orlando community to push for a new professional football team. Forget the NFL having a permanent team in Orlando. Yes, Orlando is a good town for football. As a community we all can support it and we might surprise the NFL in doing so.

Back in 2001, the XFL had a team in our backyard called the Orlando Rage. This league only lasted one season before disbanding. Before this team we had some other football leagues have team in Orlando, which played in the Florida Citrus Bowl, which is now called Camping World Stadium. These teams were the Orlando Renegades and Orlando Thunder.

Camping World Stadium is a world-class stadium with many great upgrades. This is not a bad stadium as compared with some run-down stadiums around the United States. Over the years there have been upgrade and renovations. Plus, Camping World Stadium has hosted many high-end sporting and concert events throughout the years.

The new XFL will have a totally new look. It will have a very different look from the past as McMahon says. He said, “The media landscape has changed.” This is why he wants to bring the XFL back.

Here are some brief facts about the new XFL:

  • This league will begin with eight teams in the spring of 2020
  • McMahon is personally funding this venture through Alpha Entertainment
  • The first 8 teams will be owned by the league
  • The 8 team and their locations in the U.S. have not been decided yet
  • Each team will play a 10-game regular season
  • Games will be played on Sundays
  • The playoffs will consist of two semifinal followed by a championship game
  • Each team will consist of 40 players
  • Current salary structure has not been developed yet. Players will be paid to play and paid more to win.
  • The league will be testing players for illicit drugs and PEDs.

I urge all Central Floridians to email Vince McMahon and tell him that Orlando wants a new professional football team at info@alphaentllc.com. Time will tell if Orlando gets another XFL team. For more news about the XFL please visit www.xfl.com .
