Just Out There – Orlando’s Parking and Traffic Issue During Two Events at the Same Time

Downtown Orlando, FL – On Thursday, July 26, 2018, both the Amway Center and the Orlando City Stadium both held events at the same time. From my observation many people left late to come to these events. Division Avenue at these was bottleneck at times. Many parking garages and lots were filled up fast. Some parking garages and lots closed early.

Plus, there were many drivers wining about how they deserved to park on a certain property when there were no parking spots available. First of all, it is first come, first serve. Next time, leave earlier to attend an event to be on-time. It is not the problem of the parking attendant if there are no parking spaces available. Most people did not realize that there are two events going on at the same time. People were told to pack their patients.

Because of the heavy volume of vehicles in the downtown area, many parking attendants directed many drivers to other lots in the area. It is unknown if many of them took their suggestion. The bottom line is there are no guaranteed parking spaces unless one comes early to these events. This will not be the last time there will be multiple events taking place at the same time.
