Off Topic – Received a text from TrustedID

The other day, I received a text from TrustedID. Here is what the text stated, “ TEXT: TrustedID has noticed a change on your credit report that may need your attention. Please log in to . Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.”

This text had me worried about my credit report. About a month ago, someone tried to use my VISA credit card number at a local grocery store. Luckily, the credit card company declined this transaction. The fact is that I never shopped at this grocery store location before and pend $127.00 on groceries. This was an attempted odd transaction. It is still unknown how this individual got my credit card number.

Next, as the text stated it wanted me to go to their website. I did not go to as the text directed me to do so. But, I did do a search on who owned this website. I found out about this website was owned by Equifax. They were founded in 2004 and are an American identity protection company. The company’s suite of products include free and paid services that help consumers detect risk of identity theft and control the use of their personal information that is stated on .

To check my credit report, I ended up going to, which is owned by Experian. I don’t trust companies that send me texts I don’t know. This is why I went to to conduct a review on my personal credit report. Upon reviewing my complete credit report, I did not find anything out of the ordinary. This was a good thing. However, I still need to keep an eye on it.

The key is to monitor your credit report and to take action when identity theft strikes immediately. A warning to all identity thieves, one day you will be caught and pay a big price on your crime in society. When you commit an identity theft on an individual you are not only stealing from one person but also everyone. Here’s why; prices on products and services go up and someone has to pay for it. All consumers ultimately pay the price for it. Be an honest citizen and do the right thing and find a real job and earn it.
