Most students are in their senior year of high school. Now they have to set their sights on going to college or a trade school. Not all schools are created the same. Before picking the right one, you need to do their homework. Why waste thousands of dollars on an education you will not use in your lifetime.
Back in my earlier life, I choose community college over the university for many reasons. For one thing the classes are smaller and it was a lot cheaper for the money. I had a great experience and highly recommend it to other people looking at going to college. Plus, I was able to stay home in my own bed. Plus, work a part-time job.
When touring the many colleges and university in your area. This will give you a sense of what college life is like. College recruiters are like car dealers. They are there to sell you on their college. They will always tell you the positive aspect about their college. To find out about some of the negative about their college ask a current student, read online reviews, look at the college rankings, or sit in on a class. Not all colleges have the same majors. If you’re undecided then choose a community college to start your first two years with academics. Then by that time you go through the two years you’ll know what major you want.
Before making the final decision on your college choice, think it over. Once you have made up your mind. Start focusing on the college admission requirements. Each college is different. Some colleges require college entrance test such as SAT and ACT. If you don’t have the best scores don’t worry. Get a tutor and study hard for one of those tests. If you still can’t pass, there are other options a college can suggest. Some colleges may even have their own college placement test.
The application process is very long. Be patient while the college processes your application. If you get accepted to that college you might receive an email or letter in the mail. It states, “Congratulation you have been accepted to (College Name Here) and we are trilled that you have chosen us.” Then you will receive other information about orientation and other paperwork that has to be sent back to the college.
Then comes the fun part by attending class on the college campus or online program you have chosen. Good luck with picking the best education institution for yourself.
