2018 OUC Orlando Half Marathon & 5K Race Preview

OUC Orlando Half Marathon & 5K Race has been a well-known event in Central Florida for many years now. This event is for both professional and amateur runners of any skills. This ran takes place on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 7:30am/7:45am. Register online for you’re to reserve you spot for this race. Reserve your place now before they’re all gone. Cost of the Half Marathon for Adult is $100 per person and for the 5K for Adult is $40 per person. This half marathon and 5k races are produced by Track Shack Events.

Traveling to this event is right in the heart of Downtown Orlando at Lake Eola Park. Check your GPS for the best route to this event. Please note that some streets are block off for these races. For close parking chose a public/private parking garage or lot area. Parking fees will vary by location. For free limited parking park chose the residential area. Please note that the City of Orlando Parking Enforcement Officers will be on duty enforcing all the city parking laws.

If you have never participated in a half marathon and or a 5k race before it is recommended to check with your doctor to see if you’re in good health to participate in a half marathon or 5k race. Then go out and buy some new running shoes and start training a few weeks in advance of a race. It is worth the challenge of making through a race to say that one has accomplished it. Once you get hooked, you will want to participate in more 5k races. Most new race participants do a combination of running and walking to make it through a race with an average time of 40-50 minutes to complete a 5k race. On race day, it is recommended to arrive early. Please note there are two different USATF-certified racecourses. One is for the marathon and the other is for the 5k. To view both racecourse please visit www.trackshack.com/event/102/course .

Before a runner hit’s the finish line, you’ll see spectators cheering you on. Plus, runners will notice professional photographers at the finish line to taking your photo while one crosses the line. Don’t forget to get your finisher’s metal once you cross the line. It is a great souvenir to remember this race. Plus, race participants will be notified by email when photos are ready for viewing! Right after both races, the post race party begins with great entertainment and much more. The Brasky Family Crest Band will be performing. They are comprised of three professional musicians. Collectively they have many years of performing, touring, and recording and teaching. So stick around awhile for the awards ceremony.
