Mark your calendar for this year 2019 Florida Rail Fair in DeLand on select days in certain months. Bring your family and friends to the next model train show. Many attendees who walk around are very surprised on what they find and buy. Rain or shine this event goes on.
It is a 35-45 minute drive from Downtown Orlando to Volusia County Fairgrounds. Check your GPS for the best route there. There is always plenty of free parking available. Plus, there are plenty of handicap parking spaces too. The fairgrounds address is 3150 East New York Avenue, DeLand, Florida 32724.
Admission for Florida Rail Fair is between $8-$12 per person. They only take cash only. There is an ATM machine outside the Tommy E. Lawrence Show Arena. Children 12 and under are admitted free with paid adult to all shows.

The 2-day show only happens in January. Don’t miss this huge show with double the size dealers and train layouts. They will have again have a second larger building for the January 2019 show, which is dedicated to operating layouts and displays. The Townsend Show Arena is located across from the Tommy E. Lawrence Show Arena. We will have several operating modular displays that fill this building; including The Orlando N-Trak Club, Jim Mercier’s G-Scale, American Flyer Layout, Dick Estes “Dogbone” Layout and the First Coast Model Railroad Society and the Florida Garden Railway Society.In addition, the Electric Railway Clubs of Florida will be presenting a large display consisting of five layouts, displays and also a slide presentation show.
Beside the 2-day show there is also single day shows in April, July, and October. It is still the same great show but all under one roof.
Here are some of the highlights of the Florida Rail Fair which are reasonable prices new and used train equipment, tracks, cars, buildings, accessories, and much more. They carry a wide range of scale models. Get your questions ask by the experts in the field. This is a great opportunity for kids to get into this hobby.
When visiting any train show, it is recommended bringing a backpack or box to keep your purchases. Most dealers take cash with only a few dealers taking credit cards. On average most people will spend $50 – $200 on train locomotives, train cars, and assorted pieces per show. Enjoy walking around the model train show.
