The 2019 Central Florida Parade of Home event is over. However, some of these homes can still be toured. If you have never seen the Parade of Home showcase you don’t know what you’re missing. There is a list of Parade of Homes throughout the Metro Orlando area.
On one Sunday, afternoon I set out in search of the new community called Hawks Crest in Winter Park, Florida and is located in Seminole County. Upon entering this new development one will see a lot of empty land ready to be built. This is planned gated community. Expect this community to be filled with mix of families and single professionals.
What is Meritage Homes? This company is a home builder in Central Florida and other area in the United States. They are setting the standard for energy-efficient homes to help you live with more savings, better health and real comfort. For more information please go to www.meritagehomes.com
Hawks Crests is a grand community of single-family homes located along the southern shores of beautiful Lake Howell. This ideal location provides easy access to major employment sectors and desirable Winter Park shopping and dining destinations including Park Avenue and Winter Park Village. Community amenities will include a clubhouse, pier with lake access, parks, walking trails, and swimming pools. This information was from Meritage Homes website.
When I visited this community, I stopped by the Pomelo Home built by Meritage Homes. There is plenty of parking in front of this home. Anyone is welcome to take a self guided tour. This is a well-constructed house. The base price tag on this home starts at $405,990.
Here are the specs on the Pomelo Home (Plan #4F12), which has 2185 square feet of space, 4 bedrooms, 3 bath, 2 car garage, 1 story, energy savings up to $1,269 per year, and HERS Score of 61.
The pros about this house are the ring doorbell system, (2) CCTV mounted cameras, tall ceiling, small lot line, master closet easy access to attic space, energy efficient, large great room, open space kitchen, large bath tubes, gated community,
The cons about this house did not have an in-ground swimming pool, home automation, solar panel roof, and storage closet in the garage, no traditional dinning room, no playroom/gameroom, no water softener unit, no den, recycle organizer, Some of these items could be added to this house in the future.
Overall, this house felt very homely. This house would be great for a family of four. Come down and see this model home for a tour. For more information please visit www.meritagehomes.com/state/fl/orlando/hawks-crest .
