2019 Orange County Sheriff’s Office Safety Expo in Orlando Preview

Are you looking for something to do with the whole family? Then check out the annual Orange County Sheriff’s Office Safety Expo in Orlando. This free event is being held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 9am – 2pm. Rain or shine this event will go on. Don’t forget to bring your camera for some great photo moments.

It is only a quick drive from Downtown Orlando west on Colonial Drive to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office headquarters located at 2500 West Colonial Drive, Orlando, Florida. Plus, there is plenty of free parking near OSCO building and at the shopping plaza. The Colonial Drive entrance near the Fleet Garage maybe block off at the traffic light.

When arriving at this event, one will notice many tents, vehicles, and the smell of food. Just walk over to the welcome tent, which is set up in the parking lot to give attendees information about the OCSO Safety Expo. This tent manned with OCSO Support Staff and Volunteers.

There is so much to taken-in at this event. Your kids will love the hands-on experience of touching some public safety vehicles and equipment. Some of the vehicles one will see are Law Enforcement patrol cars, OCSO Command RV, a helicopter, fire truck, Florida Highway Patrol dummy simulations, police motorcycles, and much more. The kids enjoy sitting in the driver’s seat and pretending they are driving a police car.

Many people get excited seeing the Law Enforcement equipment and technology. Some equipment one will see is a drone, bomb squad robots, scuba equipment, and tactical gear, and much more. Some attendees may even have a chance to operate a robot with assistance of one of the Bomb Squad Deputy Sheriff.

Don’t forget OCSO will be cooking up some fresh hotdogs and hamburgers on the grill. Plus, they have chips and drinks too. All of this at no cost to you. This is located under the covered vehicle port area. There are tables and chairs set-up to relax and eat. Plus, there is enough room for everyone.

When one finishes eating then check out the many government agencies tables located underneath the covered vehicle port area. Some tables are providing brochures and information on safety tips to pickup. Attendees may even have a chance to meet in person OSCO Sheriff Mina. Sheriff Mina will be giving a brief speech about his agency and introducing some of his Command Staff attending this event too.

Plus, there will be guided tours of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Headquarter. See behind the scenes where most people don’t have a chance to see. Some areas visitors may see are the Crime Scene Investigators Unit (CSI), Supply Division, Fleet Garage, Support Staff Offices, Human Relations Department, Public Relations Unit, and much more. Tours groups are arranged in small to medium size groups. Some tour areas may change without notice.

Before you go home, check out the OCSO Cop Shop located inside OCSO front Lobby. They have everything Law Enforcement related from t-shirts, ball caps, stuffed animals, and much more. Please note that some items may not be purchase by the general public. Prices will vary by item.

This is your chance to get up to date information on safety tips and ideas all at one place. It is not recommended to wait till the last hour to attend this event.
