Recently, I attended the 2019 Central Florida International Auto Show in Orlando. Hank the Robot encouraged attendees to sign up for the “It pays to test drive a Ford” promotion. So I went through the process of signing up at the auto show. Then I received an email directing me to find a local Ford dealership near me. I printed the promotion document and took it with me to the closest dealership, which was Mullinax Ford in Apopka.

On a late Saturday morning, I stopped by Mullinax Ford for a test drive a vehicle. When I arrived on property no salesperson ran out to parking lot to greet me at my vehicle. I walked into this dealership showroom and was greeted by Sales Consultant Matt Davis. He was happy to assist me with the test drive promotion.

Davis and I walked to the west side of the dealer lot. There were many Ford Mustangs on this lot to pick from. I choose a new Silver 2019 Ford Mustang GT. This was a standard low end GT model. The MSRP was around $37,000 and it had a no haggle price tag on this vehicle at $32,768. Davis also explain there are no added fees on this sticker price. Beside there is tax on this vehicle too.

Then Davis started this vehicle up by remote key fob on the lot. One could hear this vehicle purr. It sounded quite nice. Next, he handed the keys to me and off we went for a test drive. I mentioned to Davis that I had driven a rental car Ford Mustang convertible a few years ago. The handling was very bumpy on the road. I was curious on how this new Ford Mustang was going to handle.

Here are some specs on this vehicle. It comes in a variety of colors. This sport car had Ebony cloth bucket seats and can seat up to 4 people. The adults are more comfortable in the front than in the back seat. The engine is a 5.0 Liter TI-VCT V8 with a 10 speed automatic transmission. While on the road this vehicle’s fuel economy is 19 combined city and 25 on the open highway. Davis said this vehicle has a government 5-Star safety rating for overall vehicle score, frontal crash, side crash, and rollover. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) produced this vehicle’s rating.

Both of us got into this vehicle. The vehicle has two sports car seats, which wrap around both the driver and front passenger. It was very comfortable. I started the vehicle by the push button ignition switch. Most vehicles today come with push button ignition switch.

While out on the road, I thought the steering was tight compared to my vehicle. Davis said, sports cars have tight steering for the road. Then I put the peddle to the metal. I could feel raw horsepower with this V8. Plus, one could hear the rumble sound going from the muffler. It kind of sounds like a Harley Davidson a little bit.

Overall, I thought this Ford Mustang was great. I did not see any big problems with this vehicle. However, there are blind spots the driver must watch for. If you interested in a Ford Mustang please visit www.ford.com or www.mullinaxford.com
