The holiday season is around the corner. This year WKMG News 6 has teamed with up the local Salvation Army to produce the Angel Tree program. The community needs your help. There are roughly 3,500+ kids who are in need this year.

This year’s campaign will kick off in early November 2019. Look for day of the kick-off for this campaign very soon.

A little history about the Angel Tree program, since 1975, the Angel Tree event has provided gifts to children whose families have hit hard times throughout the U.S. and Canada.

If your child is looking to receive a toy this year, then parents must sign-up their child on the Central Florida Salvation Army Angel Tree Program at www.salvationarmyorlando.org . The child must name and gift they want this year will be on an Angel Tree tag. This program website soon be up very soon.

The Central Florida community will have a chance to pick up an Angel Tree tag for a needy child at some participating businesses in the Metro Orlando area. These gifts must be returned to the place where you picked up the tag from on the first week of December 2019. It is recommended to buy the child’s gift early and return the gift back just as soon as possible. Make sure the gift is wrapped along with a tag.

Once the gift is dropped off at the local where the Angel Tree tag that was picked up, then this where the process continues where the gift will be transported to an undisclosed warehouse location to be picked up at said day and time by a parent and or guardian for that child. On Christmas day, the child will open the gift from anonymous donor. This gift will bring joy for a child.

This is your opportunity to help a needy child for the holiday season. Don’t let a child go without receiving a gift. A child who does not receive a gift for the holiday will feel unloved, unwanted, and feels let down. Don’t let this happen.

During the final days of this community program, watch WKMG News 6 to see how the parents and children receive this must needed gifts. News 6 wants to show positive holiday stories with happy endings. Save a safe and happy holidays.
