Mark your calendar for the annual Mt Dora Craft Fair in the heart of Downtown Mt Dora, which is being held on October 26, & 27, 2019, from 9am – 5pm. This is the only fall arts festival in the city for the year. Rain or shine this event goes on.
Driving to Downtown Mt. Dora from Orlando is only a short 30-minute drive. Take Highway 441 North from Orlando and one will hit the Mt. Dora City limits. Look for the Downtown signs to point you in the right direction. It is recommitted to make it a day trip. There is much to see and do in Mt. Dora. Parking may be an issue, but please don’t let it stop you from visiting this arts festival. There is some free parking in the residential side of town. Also, there are some business and homeowners who are charging a fee to park on their property. Another alternative is to use the satellite parking lot that uses buses to bring people to and from this event.
Upon arriving at this art festival one will notice artists and vendors tents set-up along both sides of the street on Donnelly Street. Plus, there is a few more streets filled with artist’s tents too. It is estimated to walk around this arts festival will take about 2-3 hours depending on what booths one looks at. The art festival is open during the daytime whether it is rains or shines.
While walking around the town one will find New England architecture and breathtaking views of Lake Dora is the backdrop for this event. In addition to the endless rows of fine art, including oil paintings, watercolors, acrylics, clay, sculpture and photography, the festival features local and regional musical entertainment at a main stage in Donnelly Park. Bring a chair and sit and enjoy the music on the park lawn.
Festival food will be provided in separate food courts and local downtown restaurants offer a wide variety of cuisine. As well as the local merchants will be open for extra shopping. Plus, many stores have sidewalk sales too. Look for the great bargains.
Besides the artwork, there will be some great entertainment at the craft fair. Here is this year’s schedule as follows:
Saturday October 26th
9:30 am to 11:30 am – Mark Z
12:00 pm to 1:30 pm – Colorblind Dinosaurs
2:00 pm to 5:00 pm – TBD
Sunday October 27th
9:30 am to 12:30 pm – The Shades
1:00 pm to 2:30 pm – John Cabrera
3:00 pm to 5:00 pm – Acoustic Flair
Be kind to your pets — please leave them at home when you visit the Festival. Don’t leave them in your vehicle or tied to a street post. The craft festival apologizes for this inconvenience. Service animals are always welcome.
Throughout this historic community, the streets come alive with more than 400 talented crafters & artists from all over the country displaying and offering for sale their finest works to the more than 100,000+ visitors who are expected to attend this two-day event. Plus there’s food and entertainment to round out a perfect day outdoors. This is one of Central Florida’s favorite festivals and what a perfect time of the year to host a craft fair with the cooler weather and the holidays just around the corner.
The Mount Dora Craft Fair is a top ranked event and was in August of this year awarded the #4 spot in the Sunshine Artist Magazine 200 BEST Classic and Contemporary Craft Shows in the entire U.S.A. This show features an eclectic mix of arts and crafts from sculptures to ceramics to paintings to woodworking, and more, providing you with the opportunity to find unique gifts for you or for those on your holiday list. And with all of the crowds in the streets, it’s a perfect time to shop in our fabulous retail shops, boutiques and galleries.
