Are you looking for sometime to do this weekend with the entire family? Then consider visiting the All Souls Community Harvest Fest in Sanford. This event is being held on November 1-3, 2019. There will be free entertainment, free admission, and free parking. Everyone is welcome to attend this festival. Rain or Shine this event goes on. Don’t forget to bring cash to this event. ATM machines are available too.
It is a nice drive from Downtown Orlando to All Souls Catholic Church located at 3280 West 1st Street, Sanford, FL 32771 (On State Road 46). Plus, there is plenty of free parking in the back and side o of the church. Don’t worry about the parking lot filling up.
Upon arriving at the Community Harvest Fest, one will notice the food, games, and entertainment. The money raised at this event will help this church in their operating costs. The peak times of this event will be in the late afternoons and early evenings. The festival promoters promise you won’t be bored.
Some people come to the Festival just to sample the food. And no wonder! The food court includes delicacies from Mexico, the Philippines, and Latin America as well as standard American fare like pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, sausage and peppers, cheese steak, and chicken wings. All the food is available at reasonable prices. Be sure to try the special carnival food including fried Oreos, Frito pie, and Funnel Cakes. And don’t forget the homemade desserts from the Sweet Treat Booth! Plus, there are other beverages such as Soft drinks, CapriSun®, and bottled water are sold at the Soda Trailer. Coffee and hot chocolate are available at the Sweet Treat Booth. Or maybe you’d prefer cold beer on tap, or wine or one of our unique wine-based specialty drinks: Margaritas, Rum and Coke, or Vodka and Cranberry. You’ll find all these adult drinks in the Beer Booth.
A highlight of the All Souls Community Harvest Festival is the carnival provided by Carol Stream Amusements. From the Ferris wheel to bumper cars, you’ll find rides perfect for you and your family. Carol Stream Amusements has an excellent safety record. All rides are inspected several times a day by the ride operators and prior to opening by the Florida Dept. of Agriculture. We have worked with this company for eight years and find them safety-conscientious and courteous, with clean rides.
Most people attend this event for the rides and games. This is the place to have fun. There are different types of games of skill. Try of the sink the basketball in the hoop. It looks easy but it is not. If rides are more your style, then check out the Farris Wheel, roller coaster, marry go round, and much more. Ride and game prices will vary. One must purchase tickets for each ride and or game.
There is some great free entertainment on the main stage. Visit the information booth for the entertainment schedule. Catch local singers, dancers, and bands, perform live on stage. Here is a list of performers such as Wills and the Ways, La Sensual (Salsa Band), School of Dance Arts of Sanford, Seminole HS Show Choir & Acapella, Elevate LIVE, Three of the Thirty, The Sofa Kings, Hayfire, Hendricks School of Irish Dance, Extreme Dance, Oviedo School of Rock Band, and American Hotrods.
Another big attraction at this festival is the Jail-A-Friend. One will find the Festival Sheriff arresting anyone wanting to participate in this fun-raiser. The jail is located in the middle of the festival. Watch the inmates beg for money from strangers to their family and friends. This makes a great photo moment.
If shopping is your thing, then check out the Christmas Boutique. Where you can start your Christmas shopping early! There will be a wide assortment of handmade items will be available for purchase at reasonable prices in our Crafts Boutique.
Gift baskets and silent auction items galore beckon your attention in the Basket Raffle & Silent Auction Booth. This is a great place to shop for gifts. Last year themed baskets offered everything from pet care to wine to hotel accommodations and from attraction tickets to Christmas supplies. When you bid on a basket or other Silent Auction item, you may be outbid at any given moment. So be sure to check back often! Bidding ends at 5:00 pm on Sunday. Winners are announced on Sunday, November 5 at 5:30 pm. You don’t have to be present to win. Smaller themed baskets are raffled during the festival. Visit the Basket Raffle & Silent Auction Booth and you can enter the raffle for one or more baskets. Basket Raffle ticket costs will vary from $2 – $20.
There will be tours of this church are available for visitors at certain times. Members of this church will be giving tours. This is one of the largest Catholic Church in Central Florida. This Catholic Church was formed in 1882 in Sanford. With the church ever growing membership, the church is set to build a new school very soon.
