The colorful performers and flags from the inaugural Diversitastic! Parade in 2018 were invited to be in a parade every month for seven months starting with FusionFest. The parade and festival reflect the season of Thanksgiving by honoring the more than 100 heritages found amongst the diverse Central Florida residents. The festival begins each day with the parade starting at 12pm and continues with hundreds of performances, vendors with food and merchandise from around the world, visual arts, games from different cultures, children’s activities, short films about Central Floridians and unique interactive experiences.
Saturday ends with a Global Street Dance Party on Orange Avenue in front of Orlando City Hall from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday ends with an Awards Ceremony for successful fusion in seven different categories with nearly $10,000 in prizes including the Fly-Anywhere-in-the-World Raffle from the Orlando International Airport. “It’s the new Thanksgiving tradition for Central Florida,” claims festival organizer Terry Olson.
