Lime Electric Scooters Coming to Orlando in 2020

Say goodbye to the Lime Bicycles on Downtown Orlando streets. The City of Orlando has given Lime a one-year pilot program on the electric scooters. If it does well then it will be permanent. Are scooters the wave of the future? Orlando is trying to keep up with the sign of the times with all forms of transportation. There are over 100 cities that have the Lime Electric Scooters and counting. Now Orlando is getting them.

The roll out of these electric scooters will start at the end of January 2020. Look for free Lime Electric Scooter classes to teach safety and road awareness. Lime website says, “You’re free to roam. Stay safe. We have a few road-tested guidelines to help keep you safe.” It is highly recommended to wear a helmet. For a quick safety information please visit .

How to access a Lime Electric Scooter? First, download the Lime App. Next, register yourself. Then locate the nearest parked Lime Electric Scooter. Once you arrive at a scooter. Scan the bar code on the scooter into the Lime App. Once you are approve the scooter will unlock and then happy travels to you. There are exclusion zones for the scooters, which are only allowed in the Downtown area only.
