2020 Sanford MLK Parade Preview

Come out want watch the City of Sanford MLK Parade, which is being held on Monday, January 20, 2020, at 10am, at the intersection of Historical Goldsboro Blvd and Persimmon Avenue and will proceed east to Holly Ave near the Sanford Police Department. The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Steering Committee organized this parade. Everyone is welcome to attend. Rain or shine this event goes on.

It is a short drive from Downtown Orlando to residential area of Sanford. Check your GPS for the best route there. There is free parking on the street and at Crooms Academy of Information Technology. First come, first serve. It is advised do not park on private property. Your vehicle maybe subjected to be towed at vehicle owners expense. Don’t forget to arrive early for the best and closest parking spaces to the parade route. Crooms is located at 2200 Historic Goldsboro Blvd, Sanford, Florida 32771

For those who are participating in this year’s MLK parade, participants will be staging at the intersection of Historical Goldsboro Blvd and Persimmon Avenue. Each group will be assigned spot on in the parade route. Vehicle floats and participants should be ready at the start time of parade.

The sights and sounds of the Sanford MLK Parade will educate and entertain everyone. Expect to see City of Sanford officials, Law Enforcement from Seminole County Sheriff’s Office and Sanford Police Department, local high school bands, High school ROTC cadets, NCAAP, religious organizations, and much more. If your organization would like to participate in this year’s MLK parade then please contact promoter of event.

Many spectators will be sitting along the parade route. Please be respectful on the sidewalk and to residences in the area. It is advised to bring your own folding chair to enjoy the entire parade. The parade is expected to last from 1-3 hours. After the parade has ended expect heavy traffic to be in the area. Following this parade there will be a Community Day at Ft. Mellon Park, from 1pm – 6pm.
