Bring the entire family for free admission to Harry P. Leu Gardens for their annual Spring Plant Sale on March 14 & 15, 2020, from 9am – 5pm. This is the place to be to purchase some great plants and trees on this weekend. Besides buying plants there are the beautiful gardens to walk around and see with your family too. Before arriving to this event make sure you have plenty of room in your vehicle to take home beautiful foliage.
It is just a quick drive from Downtown Orlando to Leu Gardens in Northeast Orlando. Check your GPS for the best route there. Leu Gardens is located at 1920 North Forest Avenue, Orlando, Florida. Parking is very limited on the Leu Gardens property. First come, first serve on parking. Additional parking is outside of Leu Gardens is on the street. For customers who purchase plants there is a pick-up area on the property.
Here is some brief history about Leu Gardens. Explore an amazing 50-acre botanical oasis minutes from Downtown Orlando. Each garden is designed specifically to further our mission: inspire visitors to appreciate and understand plants. The garden and historical home were donated to the City of Orlando in 1961 by Mr. Harry P. Leu and his wife, Mary Jane. Back in 1991, one movie scene from Problem Child II was film on location on the property.
When arriving to Leu Gardens there are a few entrances to enter the property. The main entrance is at the white mansion near the parking lot and the lake. Check in at the Lobby desk for free admission. Next, proceed thru the side door to the patio area and gardens. Also, Due to storm damage by Hurricane Irma, the historic Leu House Museum maybe closed until repairs are made until further notice.
There will be over 50 growers and vendors selling a variety of plants and outdoor accessories to enhance your landscape and home. Bring a wagon or plant cart for your purchases. Some of Central Florida areas top nurseries will sell their best plants, flowers, and trees. It is recommended to arrive early for the best picking of the foliage. Visitors who arrive late in the day may find some foliage being wilted from the sun However, these plants are not dead but can be brought back to life. Prices on foliage will vary. All vendors take cash and most take credit cards.
