Mark your calendar for the annual Renningers Thundering Spirit Family Pow Wow in Mt. Dora which is being held on February 28 thru March 1, 2020. This is a family friendly event. Learn about the traditional Native American culture including drumming, dancing, crafts, and food. Rain or shine this event goes on.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate for $7 per adult, Children under 12 are free, Active, Retired or Service personnel are free. Plus, get a special 3-day pass for just $10. It is recommended to bring cash. Credit cards may not be accepted to pay for admission.
It is a 35-45 minute drive from Downtown Orlando to Renningers Twin Markets in Mt Dora. Check your GPS for the best route there. There is plenty of free parking available. When arriving on property, look for staff directing traffic on the property. Plus, there are plenty of handicap parking spaces too. It is advised to arrive early for the closets parking spaces to the venue location. Renningers is located at 20651 US 441, Mt Dora, Florida 32757.
What is Renningers Thundering Spirit Family Pow Wow? This is a large event, which takes place on once a year. Check out the Seminole Indians along with other Native American cultures. MC David Creel moderating the Indian Show. Check out Arvel 2020, Joanne 2020, Hoop Dancer Lowery Begay, Singer and Story Teller Carol “Crystal” Woman, Musician Sicanni, and Aztec Dancer Tloke Nahuake.
This event would not be possible without the head staff including Host Drum Ottertrail, Head Man Dancer Thomas Zermeno, Head Woman Dancer Juanita Zermeno, Firekeeper & Keeper of the Circle with Shawn “Badger Hawk” & Tony “Thunder Wolf,” Guest Drum is TBA, Head Veteran Jose Rivera, and Color Guard by local Veterans. Don’t forget to check out the artisans who make hand made crafts. Take something from and remember the day. Here is what attendees will find traditional Indian clothing, jewelry, artwork, musical instruments, and much more. Prices will vary by item.
If you get hungry at this event, there are a few places to get a quick bite. They fast casual places throughout this venue that serve hamburgers, hotdogs, pizza, ice cream, and much more. Prices will vary by food and drink items. There is limited seating area from these food vendors.
