2020 Winter Park Road Race 10K & 2 Mile Preview

Are you ready for the Winter Park Road Race 10K & 2 Mile? Then get ready. Get set. Go sign-up now before it is too late. This race is being held on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at 7:00am. If you have never run in a 10k before, it is a great challenge for seasoned runners. There is a participation metals given out to all racers at the finish line at this race. This race is open to all levels. Plus, this race benefits the Track Shack Youth Foundation, which is a local, 501c(3) organization that promotes health and fitness with an emphasis on youth programs.

It is a quick drive from Downtown Orlando to Downtown Winter Park. There is plenty of parking in the Winter Park in the public parking garage and residential streets. For additional parking please check out New York Ave. at W. Canton Ave (free parking) 2 South Park Avenue at Lyman (paid parking) Parking is on a first come, first serve basis. Some roads maybe closed during this event. Watch for detours. Plan to arrive 45 minutes ahead of race due to heavy traffic. The event address is 251 North Park Avenue, Winter Park, Florida 32789.

Reserve your spot in this race now. Don’t wait till the day of the race to reserve your spot. Registration fills up fast. Before the race day, pick up your Bib and e-Race Packet. This is usually done a few days for the race. To pick up your bib and shirt at Track Shack or at the race site on race morning. If you have never participated in a race before it is recommended to check with your doctor to see if you’re in good health to participate in a race. Then got out and buy some new running shoes and start training a few weeks in advance of a race. It is worth the challenge of making through a race to say that one has accomplished it. Once you get hooked, you will want to participate in more 5k & 10k races. Most new race participants do a combination of running and walking to make it through a race with an average time of 40-50 minutes to complete a 5k race. Track Shack motto is safety is our first priority. Check event website to view all restrictions.

The sights and sounds of the 10K Race will take runners through beautiful up-scale Winter Park residential community. This beautiful 3.1 mile course starts on Park Ave. and runs through some of the best streets of Winter Park. This route is a USATF-certified course. All the streets are paved or have brick roads. There will be water stations along the way. Be courteous to other runners. Lower runners please stay right on the course. Anyone running with a stroller should be at the back of the pack. It is advised not to wear audio headphone or ear buds while on the course.

Before a runner hit’s the finish line, you’ll see spectators cheering you on. Plus, runners will notice professional photographers at the finish line to taking your photo while one crosses the line. After this race expect to see your race proof photos within 1-3 days and will be emailed to each race participant.

After the race there is a post-race party, still around for the race awards, food, and other activities. Don’t miss the awards ceremony for the top 10 winners in both male and female runners.
