Press Release from Orlando Fringe

APRIL 2020
As you most likely know, due to the effects of COVID-19, we have had to make the unbelievably difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel this year’s festival.

The 29th Annual Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival will sadly be known as “The Fringe That Almost Was.”

But all is not lost. We have some ideas that we are working on for the future and we are counting on all of you to help us get through this dark time so we can be there for you in the future.

We should also mention…

Fringe buttons are on their way. Keep your eyes out so you don’t miss your chance to buy these limited-edition historic festival buttons.

Until then, stay safe, stay positive, and continue to Incite Art!

Fringe needs your help now more than ever.

We are happy to announce that thanks to our incredible donors so far, we have raised over $24,000 for our United Arts Collaborative Campaign. That means that United Arts is now matching all campaign donations by 30% from now until April 30! Can you help us reach our new goal of $30,000?

Please visit unitedarts.cc/support/give-now and designate Orlando Fringe to make a donation today. And while you are at it and able, throw a few dollars to our other arts friends to keep our community growing strong.

As our festival was canceled this year, all sponsors had the option to have their sponsorship money refunded. Many of our amazing sponsors wanted us to keep their sponsorship money as a donation to Orlando Fringe.

We want to take this moment to recognize the following sponsors who chose to give their financial support they had committed to the 2020 May Festival for our continued operations.

The refund process is ongoing, but almost complete.

All artists, both performing & visual fringe, and our lawn vendors have been refunded in full for any fees that were paid toward the May 2020 Festival.

Patron refunds for the 2020 buttons, 2020 local teaser shows, and most of the 2020 Festival multi-passes were processed March 31st – April 2nd. Unless you contacted us, your refund was processed to the credit card used in the original transaction. The credit card refunds usually take 3-5 business days to post, so we expect that patrons should have the funds in their accounts by the end of this week.

For those patrons that refused a refund and donated your purchases to Fringe,

THANK YOU from the entire Fringe family.

We are continuing to reach out to our patrons that purchased passes during our Black Friday sale. We have unfortunately hit a snag with our credit card processing system, and it will not allow us to refund transactions over 120 days old. If you have not already spoken to Paula, please send an email to Paula@orlandofringe.org to discuss your refund. We hope to have checks in the mail to everyone by the end of next week. Please be patient with us as we work thru the logistics of our new virtual realities.

If you have any questions on your specific refund, please send an email to boxoffice@orlandofringe.org and we will reply within 24 hours.
