Looking for a great lunch place in College Park, then check out Shakers American Café. This restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week and hours do vary. They have a large selection food on the menu.
This is an independent restaurant that has been serving food since August 1993, and is owned by Greg and Terry Granda. Everyone is welcome at this restaurant. Why is this restaurant named Shakers American Café? If you visit this restaurant customers will notice many unique salt and peppershakers displayed around the dinning room area. They have been collecting shakers over the years.
Shakers are located in the heart of South College Park right on Edgewater Drive. Just look for the teal awning with the dark orange terracotta roof tiles on the building along with outside seating. Their address is 1308 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, Florida 32804.
Last week, I was hungry and was looking for a great little restaurant. Next, I checked out the Shakers website to browse their lunch menu. A former co-worker told me about this place and I have never eaten there before. They have everything for lunch from sandwiches, soups, burgers, salads, and much more. Many people say they are noted for their breakfast dishes. Plus, they have great coffee too.
Because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), I decided to call in a lunch order for take-out. So I ordered the half white breast of turkey on a Kaiser roll sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, and topped with a little spicy-brown mustard. The sandwich was served with a small bag of chips and a dill pickle spear. A beverage and dessert were separate from meal. The total cost for the meal was $7.44 with tax. Tip not included. This was a reasonable priced meal.
When I arrived at Shakers to pickup my order, it was ready. The friendly staff at counter rang me for my order then I was out the door and on my way to the office. I could not wait to dig in. Then I had to wait till I got to my office to enjoy this wonderful meal. This meal can be described as very satisfying. When biting into the sandwich the turkey was very moist. Everything about this sandwich was very fresh the way I liked it. No complaint here.

Finally, yes I’ll be back to Shakers to be a repeat customer. I recommend supporting our small businesses in the area. Please help them stay in business. This place knows how to do home cooking right. Check their daily chalkboard for specials and homemade soups of the day.
