It is the sign of times when sports fans can’t watch a game in person. This is all because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Still the world is not safe from this virus. Many sports leagues are trying to figure out when to start their season. However, many athletes are a little rusty with very little training.

I expect both NHL and NBA will get ready for next season. I think it is late in the season to resume in both of these sports. Plus, both leagues will not crown a championship this year. Fans will have to wait till next season. I just hope I’m wrong.

All college sports have been cancelled for the spring term and expect the same for the summer as well. The government has ordered no college sports can resume until all colleges are back to normal. Is this fair? For players and fans many people will disagree. Some areas in the country are not hot spots with this virus, but that could change.

Expect MLS Soccer to resume possibly in the month of June. When plans MLS re-starts the season expect there to be no fans in the stands. The only people covering the games in-person will be local and national media outlets. Fans will have to watch the game on television in the comfort of their home.

USL Soccer may follow MLS on what they do. Central Florida is excited to move Orlando City B into a new renovated soccer specific stadium in Kissimmee. Fans will not able to experience the team’s first home game in person.

No one knows how long there will be no fans in the stands. If the country continues to do social distancing, hand washing, and staying away from large group of people. This will help to get rid of this virus. Currently, the world is trying to come up with a solution to keep sports alive for all of us. Only time will tell. Stay safe and healthy.
