First of all, I am writing this article based on my experience that I going through during these times. Do you feel over weight, tired, and have very little energy? Then now is the time to change your mind set. When COVID-19 hit in March 2020, everything closed up; even my condo gym closed down. This was not a good thing. I understand that everyone needed to be quarantine for about seven weeks then the State of Florida lifted some restrictions. We are not all back to normal in this pandemic.
While some gyms still closed. Many people are turning to their own home gym and or outside exercise routine. I decided to focus my own fitness at home. What’s in my home gym? I have a reclined exercise bike, Ab roller, Ab wheeler, free weights, and an exercise mat. One does not need a lot of equipment to start your own home gym. Start with either a treadmill and or an exercise bike and gradually built up your equipment. Just member if you buy it. You must use it. Some people buy it and never use it. What a shame.
Many people are having a hard time of starting their own exercise routine. It is not too hard just make a plan for one hour per day Monday trough Friday and stick with it. There is no I don’t feel like exercising today. Don’t even think about. The only reason not to exercise is that you’re sick or having some type of health problem. Seek a doctor before starting an exercise program and exercise at your own risk.
All workouts start strengthening and toning. My strengthening consists of various exercises for 20 minutes then get on the exercise bike for the last part. Here are some of my strength routine are sit-ups, arm curls, side stretches, forward fold, and much more.
When I first started using the exercise bike I would exercise for about 20-25 to start. Eventually, I increased the amount slowly over time. Now I’m at 40+ minutes on the bike. Taking in 10+ miles and about losing 240 calories. Plus, sweating too. That is a good thing. Don’t forget to hydrate after exercising. You’ll need it.
One will notice the difference with your body. Now I’m starting to tone my muscles. Plus, I had to buy the next size down in clothing. Wow! Even my family, friends, and co-workers, notice a positive change with my body.
Another thing about losing weight is one’s diet. I’m on the see food diet. No not seafood diet. The key is smaller portions and eating only two full meals a day with small healthy snacks. I cut out the junk foods such as sugary sodas, cut my bread consumption, potato chips, breakfast cereals, etc. I recommend eating peanuts, fruits, vegetables, and other healthy snacks.
Finally, I encourage everyone to get off his or her sofa and start his or her own exercise program. I promise you will feel better and enjoy life again.
