Mark your calendar for the Casselberry’s free Rock N’ Blues Concert and Car Show on Saturday, May 29, 2021, from 5-9 p.m. at Lake Concord Park. More than a year after the pandemic struck and most events were put on hold, one of the city’s signature concert series returns with the Apocalypse Blues Revival headlining the free event.

It is a short drive from Downtown Orlando to Lake Concord Park in Casselberry. Check your GPS for the best route there. General parking is available at Home Depot and Target. Disabled parking is available in front of the Casselberry Police Station. The venue address is 95 Triplet Lake Drive, Casselberry, Florida 32707

The band was formed in 2018 by Shannon Larkin, Tony Rombola and Brian Carpenter. Larkin and Rombola had played together for more than 17 years with the rock band Godsmack. But the duo always loved the blues and created this side project and put out a few albums. Recently, they added new singer Shane Hall and changed their name to Apocalypse Blues Revival and released their debut album in December 2020 to rave reviews.

All Music Magazine said this of the album: “My overall impression is the album is similar to 1970s music. It’s kind of a cross between Pink Floyd and Frank Zappa but with a heavy blues tones. This is an album that you need to listen to as it’s like nothing you have ever heard before. Put on the headphones and kickback. Journey to places you may have been, or to places you may haven’t experienced yet. Apocalypse Blues Revival has put together a road map to guide you out of the dark.”

Because of Covid-19, the city will follow recommended CDC guidelines to ensure social distancing for viewing, masks for people walking around the park and hand-washing stations throughout the park. If you’re sick please stay home.

Along with the music, there will be more than 100 classic cars ranging from Camaros to Chevelles to Mustangs, and there will be five food trucks. It is advised to bring your show car early because space will fill up on a first come first serve basis.

As part of this Memorial Weekend celebration, the city will again honor all veterans for their service with a color guard display.

There will be about 10+ food, beverage, and specialty vendors will be on hand. For more information please visit www.casselberry.org/771/Rock-N-Blues-Concert-Car-Show
