Since the local sketch community could not travel over to Italy, the group decided to bring Italy scene to Orlando, which is in our own backyard. So mark your calendar for the Orlando Urban Sketchers presents Sketch on location at Dellagio Town Center being held on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 10am to 1pm. This is a free event and open to anyone who like to sketch/draw at any skill level. There will be professionals along with young inspiring artists too. Check the day weather forecast before heading down to this venue. This is a family friendly event.
Before leaving your home, here is a list of things to bring with you to this activity. You’ll need a bag with sketch paper, pencils, erasers, clipboard, stool/folding chair, hat, sunglasses, bottled water, snack food, sunscreen, an umbrella, and other art supplies too.
Dress comfortable because you will be sketching in the hot sun and shade too. Most people will be wearing shorts, t-shirt, and flip-flops. Wear what you want.
It is short drive from Downtown Orlando to Dellagio Town Center (Dr. Phillips area). Check your GPS for the best rout there. There is plenty of free parking on property along with handicap spaces too. This event address is 8075 Via Dellagio Way, Orlando, Florida 32819
What is Dellegio Town Center? Is located just west of Sandlake Road. It is an outside shopping center with restaurants, wellness, retail stores, and much more. This place is managed by Concorde Dellagio Center, LLC. For more information on this shopping center please visit www.dellagioorlando.com
When arriving to this event, please find a spot and start sketching away. There is no time limit on location to sketch. Please be mindful of other sketches out on scene too. Don’t worry about making any artistic mistakes. Sometimes it works in your favor. The goal of the day is to complete a sketch or drawing of landscape, architecture, sculptures, and much more within a short amount of time. If you don’t finish you can come back at your own time.
