Again, the Amazon scammers continue to send me junk emails that I don’t need or want. However, I am not a current customer of Amazon. It is not surprising that I am a target. Stop and do NOT give them any information to scammers at anytime. If you are concern about your Amazon account please contact Amazon directly and not through the spammers link. This is when my investigated into this email.
The current spam email from Amazon that I received with the subject line of [(amazon.com) Account Locked. ID: ZWKVF-OLJQOCI] from firstname.lastname@example.org (real email address was email@example.com) This is NOT an official email from Amazon. Always look at the real email address where it came from.
Who is Alane Macphee? I conducted some online research and could not find anyone with this name at all. It is believed to be a factious name. Sometimes, if your name is being used please contact local law enforcement to file a police report. You may need the evidence to use against a suspect(s) for criminal and for civil recourse. No one should have their name used for bad intentions.
This email copy reads, “billing information issues.” [Hello (your email address), The System automatically lock your Amazon account and hold all your last orders. We took this action, because the billing information you provide did not match the information on file the card issuer. To unlock your account, you can click button below and proceed with identity verification to prove that it is your account.]
Followed by an orange button marked “Account Verify.” Do NOT click on this button. It will redirect viewers to another page to try and get your personal information.
[If you do not complete the verification process within 24 hours, all pending orders will be cancelled and you will not be able to access your account until this process has been completed. We appreciate your patience with our security measures. Thank you for your concern. Sincerely, Amazon]
On the footer of this email says [AmaServices, Inc. is a subsidiary of Amazon.com Inc. Amazon is a registered trademark of Amazon.com Inc. This message was produced and distributed by Amazon Services, Inc. 410 Terry Ave, Seattle, WA 98109-5210.]
Who is AmaServices? I conducted a search and found it was not a real company. Even Amazon website does not mention it. The Amazon headquarter address is correct.
Email Alert! When reviewing the fake email there are many red flags that come up. Just look at the entire email with no official email address from Amazon, description of the problem, and how to resolve it. This scammer doesn’t know what they are doing and just phishing for victims. These types of fake emails have been going on for a while Amazon has asked if you see any type of fake Amazon email to please forward to them to firstname.lastname@example.org . When you send Amazon an email about this subject matter they will auto reply email about “Your Amazon.com Inquiry.”
They will investigate it and take possible action against the individuals and or company responsible sending you a fake Amazon email. For more information about this problem please visit www.amazon.com .
